Photographs from Queen’s final tour with Freddie Mercury

When I was standing in the audience or by the mixing table, I could create a kind of double exposure. I’d position the camera so that half of the frame was on the dark crowd, allowing the brightness of the stage to be exposed. Then, a few seconds later, I’d turn the camera and expose the other half. In this shot, Freddie turns his head while his body remains in the same position, creating a nice line effect. Photoshop didn’t exist back then; the first version wasn’t released until 1990.
