My Fairy King

Photographs from Queen’s final tour with Freddie Mercury

When Queen received the Polar Music Prize in 2025, they joined a legendary line of rock icons previously honoured with what’s often called the Nobel Prize of Music. Over the years, the award has gone to bands like Metallica, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, as well as to groundbreaking solo artists such as Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Patti Smith, Paul McCartney, Peter Gabriel, Chuck Berry, Sting, Joni Mitchell and Paul Simon. A celebration not just of virtuosity, but of the lasting cultural power of rock music.
