Friends Will Be Friends

Photographs from Queen’s final tour with Freddie Mercury

The concerts were often followed by some bar-hopping, especially for me, John “Easy” Deacon, and Brian May. It was usually low-key, but it gave me the chance to build a real connection with both of them. Brian was an astrophysicist, John had studied electronics, and I had a degree in civil engineering. We were all connected to music, but there was also a shared curiosity about technique, ideas and how things worked.
