INXS had a physical energy that went straight through the camera. There was something both confident and dangerous in their expression, especially in Michael Hutchence. He moved as if the stage already belonged to him. They became one of the bands I truly came to follow. I photographed them many times, in Sweden, in Europe and in the USA. Each time there was the same nerve: the rhythm, the light, the movement and the feeling of a band that knew exactly what they were doing. When I look at the image today, I remember not only the concert in Montreux, but the beginning of a long relationship with one of my favourite bands.
