Casino de Montreux had a different feeling from the big festivals. It was closer, more concentrated, almost elegant. A-ha were young, precise, and already on their way to becoming bigger than the room they were playing in. For me, it was about keeping up with the light and the movement on analogue film. No control afterwards, only the feeling in the moment. This image captures a moment of pop, light and the eighties – before everything moved on.
